the boxwood garden at Redwine Plantation, the Georgia farm where event designer Keith Robinson lives, was designed in the 1850s by Prosper Berckmans. The noted horticulturist (known as the father of the peach) planted hedges in the shape of Masonic symbols like a Maltese cross; lore has it that General William Tecumseh Sherman, on his march to Atlanta, spared the farm after recognizing the totems of a fellow Mason. The garden has been lovingly restored by Robinson, who improved on its appeal by planting foxgloves in its borders: “They start blooming at the end of April and can flower all the way to the first frost.” Wide paths make it an ideal spot for entertaining. “It’s beautiful and dramatic,” he says.
