Icons
You can add apps to the desktop for easier access. To run the associated app, simply doubleclick on the icon. The icons can be moved and dropped into other locations. Click, hold and drag to move them. There are icons for a variety of tasks – from apps such as Python and Scratch for programming, to Empathy for web browsing, LXTerminal for issuing commands to the system directly, educational software like Wolfram Alpha and the Mathematica, to reference materials. Icons can be renamed or even deleted if you don’t want them on the desktop any more.
