Avanti West Coast has extended the trial of its discounted Superfare tickets to ten more destinations.
The Superfare ticket, which enables passengers to book for a specific morning, afternoon or evening slot at a cheaper fare, with the operator then selecting the exact time of travel, has so far been available between London and Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Preston and Glasgow.
It has now been extended to journeys between London and Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe, Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Warrington, Stockport, Runcorn, Wigan and Lancaster.
Prices are set at fixed amounts with a one-way journey costing between £12 and £30 depending on the destination.
Bookings can be made between seven and 21 days prior to travel. Passengers are then matched to an empty seat on a quieter service with around 24 hours’ notice.…
