Yamaha used this year’s annual EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy, to debut their ‘YE-01’ electric motocross bike concept. What Yamaha is calling a funbased approach to achieving carbon neutrality was developed in collaboration with French electric off-road motorcycle specialists, Electric Motion SAS (EM). Founded in 2009, and a pioneer in the field of electric trials bikes, EM’s success in the FIM Trial World Championship attracted the attention of Yamaha, who invested in the business in 2024. The mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship, presented by Motul (ASBK), is about to undergo what’s arguably the biggest change in the sport for decades. A shortened 2026 calendar will pave the way for a switch to a summer series in 2026-27 that’ll become the norm for the championship going forward. The switch essentially reverses the current championship schedule that (usually) runs from February to October. For 2026, the ASBK Championship starts at the normal time, supporting the Superbike World Championship at Phillip Island in late February, but will end in June after only five rounds. After an extended break, an all-new seven-round summer series will get underway in October, 2026, running through to April, 2027 (subject to change). For Britain’s motorcycle industry in the post-WWII years, sales in the American market were crucial. That meant many unusual, US-only models were produced over the years. One of those was the Bonneville T120 ‘TT Special’. Created to satisfy a very specific niche, the TT Special was produced in very small numbers. Built from 1963 to 1967 inclusive, the ‘TT’ designation of this bike shouldn’t be confused with the historic road race event on the Isle of Man. Harley-Davidson has presented the first models in their 2026 range. In November, a ‘Chapter 1’ reveal covered the Softail Cruiser family, Sportster, Pan America adventure bike, and the Street Glide and Road Glide models in the Grand American Touring family. This will be followed by ‘Chapter 2’ in January, 2026, where the trikes, CVO range and a Street Glide Limited from the Grand American Touring family will be unveiled. Kawasaki are set to expand their adventure bike range with the ‘KLE500’. The revival of a model name last seen almost two decades ago, the all-new KLE500 is due for local release in mid-2026, combining a proven engine and frame design with fresh, rally-inspired styling and rider-friendly features. Built off the same platform and using the same engine as the Z500 naked, Ninja 500 sports and Eliminator 500 cruiser, this base means the upcoming KLE500 will be LAMS legal.
