INTERVIEW She had a stellar Olympic swimming career, winning four medals before retiring in 2013 aged 23. And now, with the Paris Olympics around the corner, Rebecca Adlington tells Closer that she hopes her children will follow in her footsteps.
“I would absolutely love my kids to go down the sporting route,” she says. “I think it gives you so much experience that you would never get otherwise. Sport gave me so much confidence, certainly in my teenage years.”
She adds, “I don't think they're going to go down the swimming route, though. Who knows, but hopefully they continue with sport, because I think it just sets you up.”
