Southern has reprieved its hourly service from Brighton and Portsmouth.
It is also doubling the number of trains between Brighton, Worthing and Chichester to four trains per hour, in its new summer timetable shuffle that comes into effect from June 3.
Other revisions on the West Coastway route include better connections for intermediate stations between Chichester and Havant, a new later last train from Portsmouth to Chichester, and adjustments to schedules and stopping patterns as requested by schools, parents, and shift workers.
While the doubling of services to half-hourly between Brighton and Southampton, and London to Portsmouth Harbour via Gatwick, will be welcomed, some will also lose out.
