Tile tags don’t connect independently to the internet, but your phone sees them via Bluetooth when within range, and so can other devices with the Tile app. If you leave a tagged item in the middle of nowhere, the hope is that a passing Tile user will trigger an alert, which comes privately to you and lets you know the location. Tile reckons 90 per cent of lost tags are found.
In the Tile app (pictured), each tag you own is allocated a category, such as Keys, Wallet or Luggage, so you can quickly identify and find it.
