Coral reefs are among the world’s most dazzling sights. That feeling we get when snorkelling these hidden worlds rightfully puts them at the top of most traveller’s bucket lists. This 7 September marks 195 years since Brazil declared its independence from Portugal, following more than three centuries of European rule.
