As of this year, all children in the UK are being offered protection against chickenpox. The vaccine is being combined with the previous MMR jab, for measles, mumps and rubella, given at 12 and 18 months. The Government this week revived the Northern Powerhouse Rail project to build better railways across the north of England. Ministers know that the current situation – with one in ten working-age adults claiming sickness or disability benefits – is unsustainable. Even before its release, Hamnet was being touted as one of “the films of the year” and a shoo-in for Oscar glory, said Nicholas Barber on BBC Culture – which is not that surprising, when you consider the film’s pedigree.
