MORE stolen cooking oil has been recovered following a robbery at the Willowton Group’s offsite warehouses in Kempton Park in Joburg. The group – that produces Sunfoil Sunflower cooking oil – said another suspect linked to the robbery was arrested on Monday. Armed men stormed the warehouse last Wednesday and held the employees at gunpoint. They then loaded three trucks, which were allegedly stolen, with R1.5 million worth of 2-litre cooking oil and fled. SOUTH Africa’s Kumba Iron Ore’s production and exports will be hampered by a strike at state-owned logistics company Transnet, the mining company said this week. Transnet, which operates South Africa’s freight rail network and all of the country’s ports, declared force majeure at its ports last Thursday after some workers began a strike over wages. “As a result of the disruption to Transnet’s rail and port services, the estimated impact on production is approximately 50 000 tons a day for the first seven days and thereafter about 90 000 tons a day. “Export sales will be impacted by about 120 000 tons a day,” Kumba said in a statement.
