A SURPRISE win in the opening Superbike race, finishing off the podium in Supersport, a Superstock win in spite of minimal practice time to adapt to different rubber, and finally his huge crash at the 27th milestone led 16-times winner Ian Hutchinson to point the finger at the Dunlop tyres he requested to use this year.
Despite holding off Hickman for the opening win in the Superbike TT, Hutchy claimed he didn’t think it was on the cards at the start. “I was treating it as a six-lap practice – the bike wasn’t right, so I was surprised to have won,” he said.
