A pair of brown bear cubs have found their forever home in Devon after fleeing from war. The siblings, Malenky and Nanuq, were born in Belgium after their mother was rescued from Ukraine. NEWS YOU CAN USE DON'T BIN THAT LETTER! Thousands of mothers are owed state pension money and haven’t responded to letters encouraging them to claim. This latest problem with underpaid state pensions arose when Home Responsibilities Protection (HRP) wasn’t credited on National Insurance records. HRP was a scheme that ran from 1978 to 2010, designed to protect the state pension for people, mainly women, who took time off work to care for children or other dependents. The Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) has investigated why only 12,379 people have received arrears, compared to 370,000 letters sent to potential claimants. The arrears paid are worth £8,377 on average. Apparently, many women thought the letters were a scam, couldn’t understand why it applied to them, or were put off by the…

Carefully knitting one stitch then purling the next, Theresa admired her neat rib pattern. The 7/7 London bombings stand as one of the most devastating terrorist attacks in the UK’s history. On the morning of 7 July 2005, four suicide bombers targeted London’s public transport system during rush hour, killing 52 people and injuring more than 700. The coordinated attacks struck three Underground trains and a doubledecker bus, leaving the city in shock and mourning. This year marks the 20th anniversary of that tragic day. Dr Megan Rossi’s philosophy is ‘inclusion not exclusion’, so adding to your diet rather than banning foods.
