Flicking through the pages of the 1970 EMPI catalogue, it’s clear there was some very clever marketing surrounding the Imp Buggy. For instance, the entry price Basic Imp kit consisted of little more than the body tub, bonnet / dash panel, some badges, a licence plate surround and an instruction manual. Not a full car kit by a long shot, but it drew you in.
Of course, the catalogue included pages of Imp-related goodies and accessories you could buy on top, as well as information regarding the contents of higher spec (read: more complete, more expensive) kits, including the Deluxe, Super Deluxe, Sport, Super Sport and Gran Sport.
