For Sir Anthony Hopkins, 1993 was a particularly good year. The Welsh actor was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the arts and starred in award-winning film The Remains of the Day, as devoted butler James Stevens. However, he was not on our cover for a movie role, but for ITV’s wildlife documentary In the Wild, in which he encountered lions in Tanzania. It was the fulfilment of a childhood dream – he first fell in love with the big cats as a six-year-old when he saw them in Bristol Zoo.
