Unforgotten: The Bradford City Fire

Survivors and loved ones recall British football’s deadliest fire tragedy 40 years on in a documentary to mark the anniversary of the disaster. On 11 May 1985, as Bradford City took on Lincoln City at home, a fire swept through the stadium’s main stand, killing 56. Hazel Greenwood’s husband Peter and two sons, Felix, 13, and Rupert, 11, died, while survivor Matthew Wildman, who was 17 at the time, suffered 50% burns. There’s also moving testimony from Tony Delahunty, who was commentating on the game and broadcast his eyewitness account as the fire swept towards him.
