Of specific interest, and something that’s only come to light recently, is a one-off film specially made for a single project. During the 1970s, Ford wanted its ‘own’ four-wheel drive system to use with its range of tractors. County, of course, more or less provided this, as did Roadless and several others. Some were basically just kits as the manufacturers didn’t always produce a range of their own or, importantly, market them.
County, though, had a very strong foot hold on this. We marketed in the UK principally through the Ford dealer network. We were also very strong overseas where, in some countries, we sold direct to Ford. So in major markets such as South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia plus several others, Ford was, in fact, our customer.
