HJ Pugh is to hold the late Aubrey Sanders Collection sale near Crediton, in Devon, in mid-November. Aubrey, who sadly died 21 years ago, left his impressive collection in the hands of his mechanic, Nigel, who himself died a few years later. The vehicles then became the responsibility of Aubrey’s wife, Audrey, but, upon her death earlier this summer, the decision was taken to put the collection up for sale.
Aubrey was a shrewd operator and his father was a respected, knowledgeable horse dealer. Aubrey was into all types of vehicle preservation and was a farmer, a coach operator, a materials supplier, a property owner and, in later times, ran a concrete business.
