Once upon a snowy Christmas Eve, the village was alive with joy and Christmas cheer. The smell of freshly baked gingerbread men filled the air. Children played in the snow, and families gathered around the square, patiently waiting for the annual lighting of the Christmas tree.
The town’s choir was singing ‘Fairytale of New York’ as the local mayor, Mr Merry, shuffled his way through the crowd towards the stage. He cleared his throat. ‘Welcome, one and all, to the annual Christmas tree lighting!’ he announced. Everybody cheered loudly. ‘This year, the Christmas tree lighter will be … my daughter Olivia!’ Everyone cheered, thrilled for Olivia and her dad after their tough year.
