Josh Henges
In 2022, Josh Henges was named the first-ever homelessness prevention coordinator for Kansas City, Missouri. In the two years since, he has managed a number of major projects, including the development of a five-step strategy to fight housing insecurity, securing funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for youth homelessness services, developing an extreme weather plan for unhoused folks, and more.
Beyond all of these initiatives, however, is daily education. Through Henges’s TikTok account, @joshhenges, he has made important connections through dozens of informational videos educating everyday people about the policy work that goes into helping unhoused folks.
