Although 40% of professional athletes are female, women’s sports only make up 4% of all sports media coverage, according to a Unesco study on gender equality.
With this in mind, Jenny Nguyen knew that if she built a sports bar for women, they would come.
“Our approach is to take that 4% that is showing and put it on blast,” Nguyen told The Guardian.
Nguyen’s bar and restaurant, The Sports Bra, located in Portland, Oregon, is a safe, inviting place for women.
