Both sun and moon find their centres of gravity in Cornish folk singer and multi-instrumentalist Daisy Rickman’s music. Her home-recorded debut, Donsya A’n Loryow (Dance of the Moons) appeared in 2022, followed this year by Howl (Sun), a second home-recorded solo creation, employing guitars, bass, drums, percussion, sitar, cello, bouzouki, banjo, accordion, clarinet, fiddle and synthesizer.
“I learnt by jamming with people and playing with other musicians,” Rickman says. “I moved from Cornwall to Brighton when I was 18 [and later Berlin, then Bridport] and met a lot of musicians there, and we’d have these big jam sessions, which is where music really opened up for me.
