HARRISBURG, PA, October 15, 2025 — The Cybersecurity Association of Pennsylvania (PennCyber) is urging all Pennsylvania residents, businesses, and organizations to take action following Microsoft’s official end of support for Windows 10.
Effective immediately, Microsoft will no longer provide security patches, technical assistance, or feature updates for Windows 10 and older systems—leaving millions of devices potentially vulnerable to new and emerging cyber threats.
“Once an operating system reaches its end of life, it essentially becomes an unlocked door,” said Scott R. Davis, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Association of Pennsylvania. “Cybercriminals know updates are no longer coming and will specifically target those systems. Every day that passes without an upgrade increases the risk of compromise.”
