At the impressionable age of 10, Mike Cooper attended the NSRA event in Memphis, where the hot rod bug bit him pretty hard. Unable to fight off the effects of that bite, he has built or owned several hot rods. Among several Fords of 1932 vintage (roadsters, coupes, sedans, and trucks), he has also had a 1927 Model T, a 1931 Model A, a 1936 three-window coupe, multiple F100s, along with a 1971 Chevelle, a 1970 Z28, and a 1972 C10 for good measure. Being an automotive designer/builder allowed Cooper the opportunity to establish his own company, Spanky's Hot Rods & Customs. He is also a member of Memphis Street Rods, The FBI (Fat Boys of Illinois), and the American Muscle Car Club.
