Two more days of strike action and an overtime ban represent the latest efforts by drivers’ union ASLEF to force the Government’s hand into making an improved pay offer, in its 16-month dispute.
ASLEF members are striking on Saturday September 30 (after this issue of RAIL went to press) and Wednesday October 4, and staging overtime bans on Friday September 29 and Monday to Friday October 2-6.
The overtime ban means that drivers who volunteer to work rest days will not be available, leading to cancellations.
