ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR portrait lenses in the entire L series, this telephoto prime boasts a wide f/2 aperture, allowing you to get smooth blurred backgrounds with ease.
Despite having such a fast aperture, the 135mm returns amazingly sharp results wide open, with the corners becoming very sharp by f/4. It also controls distortions well, even in contrasty situations, though very slight vignetting can be found at f/2, but it’s easy to remove in editing.
Being an L lens, the construction is excellent, with the tough plastic exterior and thick rubber focusing ring for purists, who can switch to manual with the easy-to-reach ring on the side of the lens.
