They say everything is bigger in Texas—and at the annual two-day Mack, Jack & McConaughey fundraiser in Austin, that certainly included the generosity of attendees. From April 24 to 25, the nonprofit raised $17 million for various children’s organizations, including CureDuchenne, the Rise School of Austin and Just Keep Livin’s after-school programs. “They’re go-getters in Texas,” says entrepreneur Camila McConaughey, 42, who lives in Austin with Matthew and their kids Levi, 16, Vida, 15, and Livingston, 12. “Texans don’t just sit around talking about things that need doing. If there’s a disaster, a chance to help, they’ll jump right up. They’re passionate about supporting.”
