South Africa is a huge country at the southern tip of the continent of Africa. It borders Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. It also encloses two landlocked African countries – Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) and Lesotho. South Africa is often called 'The Cradle of Humankind' because archaeologists have found tools and human bones dating back over 100,000 years. They are the oldest human remains on record.
