With an auction of almost 250 lots, restoration demos, autojumble, celebrity appearances and classic car club displays, the Classic Car and Restoration Show took place over the weekend of 18-20 March, at the NEC.
Mini was represented at both of the Birmingham show’s key zones: within the Pride of Ownership display and, at the other end of the scale, a collection of barn finds. One of the 250 Mini 40 LEs made was a show highlight for enthusiasts. The Old English White car, owned by Rob Guy, sat with just nine-miles on the engine. That was in stark contrast to Peter Marsh’s 1960 Morris Mini Van. “While there is some corrosion, the structure is in fairly sound condition,” the owner explained, ahead of restoration plans.
