We take a lot of things for granted... but information most of all. I can’t remember a time when opinion was so easy to dispense, or when judgement was so fluid. Chalk it up to social media proliferation, or to the rise of citizen journalism, or to human attention spans immune to things that don’t matter to us personally. Okay, so it’s not easy to pick a few letters from 12 years of great issues. Not that we couldn’t, we really didn’t want to! It’s more than compilation, you see. There were some years when we took the letters to the editor completely online, so it would mean some severe database- and server-crunching. And then there were some years when the abuse was so rampant that we had to print the letters in the magazine again, but it’s still a mountain of work. With all the emphasis on clean tech, which Audi innovations are you most excited about? The e-tron and g-tron programmes are already well underway. The most exciting one is probably the electric vehicles that are coming up. Everyone is talking about electric vehicles in India, even though we still have a few years to go. I’m happy that the government has said that by the year 2030 they want 100% electric vehicles in India. I think it’s the right step though it is an ambitious one. I’m curious to see how the government wants to realise it but I’m confident that if you work on it, you can do it. “SPACE ISN’T EMPTY, IT’S filled by imagination!” say the creators of this ecletic clock, inspired by rockets from 1960s science fiction. MB&F’s Destination Moon, built by famous Swiss clock-maker L’Epée 1839, brings the torpedo-shaped rocket to stunning reality—with hours and minutes displayed on stainless steel discs with stamped numerals, powered by a winding crown in its base. DITCH THE PICKUP LINES The results of two studies cited by sexpert Dr. Justin Lehmiller on opening lines proved that women really don’t like lame pickup lines. But that shouldn’t be very surprising because cheesy lines aren’t going to get you very far with a beautiful woman—she knows better. Nearly 90% of the women in the study rated these half-baked pickup lines as really, really ineffective. Cue sad trombone. Instead, be straightforward. And for thousands of years, Kashi, Rameshwaram, for half the time Ajmer, have all been part of our landscape.
