Nearly 30 years ago, Swiss filmmaker Clemens Klopfenstein, one of the great film poets, released his modern masterpiece Macao or Beyond the Sea, shot in Coloane. Hauntingly beautiful, the film has been largely under seen and underappreciated since its release in 1988.
In December, Klopfenstein, along with acclaimed directors Johnnie To, Ann Hui and Choi Dong Hoon, returns to Macau in the role of festival ambassador at the 1st International Film Festival and Awards · Macao (IFFAM).
