In 1762, JC Bach travelled to London to premiere three operas at the King’s Theatre, including Orione in 1763. This program includes its overture performed by The Hanover Band under Anthony Halstead, a suite from Purcell’s opera King Arthur with Alison Balsom on trumpet and The English Concert, as well as music by Froberger, Koželuch, Toch and Tubin.

Clive of Australia
In the mid-20th century, Clive Douglas was a central figure in Australian music-making both as an ABC conductor and composer. Unfortunately, only a handful of historical recordings of his music are left to preserve his memory, among them his Essay for Strings for string orchestra, composed in 1952.
