Welcome to our very first ZINIO issue of 2023 and we “return to the basics”. And, who better to return us to the basics than our very first Aussie cover girl Emily Sears. This is a special edition compiled exclusively for Zinio readers. What was different this time around compared to your first two covers, besides the cold bath water of course? After the success of my first two covers, I was honored that I was given some input into the type of shoot I wanted to do. I was really touched for that opportunity. What was it like living in Denmark? It was a very interesting experience. I lived on a small island called Odense. When I showed up I discovered my boss got me a room at a farming school….. So I lived at yes a farming school with 200 male (4 questionable females) farmers. I often expected reality TV show cameras to come out and tell me it was all a joke. I can tell you many interesting cow and pig facts. Besides that craziness, Denmark is rated as one of the happiest countries in the world. The vacation time there is amazing! You get 6 weeks off, only have to work 35 hours a week and are not allowed to work overtime. The people were very friendly. It does rain almost…

Where are you from originally? I’m a European mixture, mainly Hungarian. I’m a first generation Canadian that was born in the most beautiful city in the world, Vancouver! What is the heritage of your name? It doesn’t seem like a typical Canadian name. Haaaa. I get that question a lot! Ildiko is a historical Hungarian name. Any special meaning in Hungarian? Check this out! Not only does the name “Ildiko” have a rad meaning, Ildiko was also the name of “Attila The Huns” gothic princess bride! Now here is the rad part! “Ildiko” means “fighter”, “fierce warrior”!!! From a young age I knew I had to live up to such a powerful name. Strange how the universe operates sometimes. Kirsty-Lee first appeared in Kandy in 2012, in the same issue as Emily Sears first Kandy cover. Now, completely random, she is back for a second helping of Kandy in Emily’s third Kandy cover. We don’t know if the two Aussie models know each other, even though they are both from Melbourne, Australia, but they certainly share a Kandy connection.
