Off the back of delivering more than 141,683 motorcycles worldwide in the past financial year, Triumph Motorcycles has announced they will launch 29 new and updated bikes between October, 2025 and April, 2026. The most recent FY sales represent a remarkable 136 per cent growth since 2019. Triumph says that recent launches, like the Tiger Sport 800, have exceeded expectations, while the Speed Triple RS and RX contributed to a strong uplift in sales. Additionally, dealer networks in China, Brazil and India have performed very strongly in their markets over the past financial year. This momentum has been strengthened by expansion into new market segments, including sub-500cc motorcycles, competitive off-road, and most recently, electric models designed for younger riders. The final seat on the MotoGP grid for 2026 has been filled, with Diogo Moreira to join Idemitsu Honda LCR next season. The 21-year-old from Sao Paulo, Brazil, will step up from the Moto2 World Championship to replace Somkiat Chantra, who’s exiting grand prix racing to join the factory Honda HRC team in the Superbike World Championship. Despite the absence of both the newly crowned and defending MotoGP World Champions, the Liqui Moly Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2025 saw new faces come to the fore, breakthroughs achieved, and history made more than once in a weekend packed with action. Such was the case again for this year’s event on 17–19 October, but not to the same extent as in 2023, when the sprint and feature race days were switched, with the sprint ultimately abandoned. After their breakthrough debut win at the FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN) in 2024, Team Australia did it again this year, securing the coveted Chamberlain Trophy thanks to stellar performances from Hunter and Jett Lawrence. The Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (ATC) has announced its entry list for the 2026 season, with two Aussies to join the starting grid and another in reserve. From an invited group of 88 candidates, the final squad of eleven riders and seven reserves was announced following a selection event at the Sepang International Kart Circuit on 21-22 October. The ATC Selection Committee, which included HRC MotoGP team manager, Alberto Puig, oversaw proceedings at the two-day selection event and assessed the talent on display. Indian Motorcycle is set to become an independent company, with Polaris Inc. selling off its majority stake in the business to US-based private equity firm, Carolwood LP. The sell-off will also bring new management, with Mike Dougherty, current President of Polaris On Road & International, to retire, replaced by former Vance & Hines CEO, Mike Kennedy. While Indian generated around US$478 million in revenue over the financial year ending 30 June, 2025, that accounted for only 7.0 per cent of Polaris’s total revenue from the same period. Australia’s Oli Bayliss will spend a second season with PTR Triumph Factory Racing in the FIM Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP). The new deal, announced in October, comes on the back of the 22-year-old’s best season to date in WorldSSP. “I’m really excited to be going again with Simon Buckmaster and the PTR Triumph Racing team,” Bayliss said. “It’s been my strongest year so far in the World Supersport Championship and I’m ready to keep building on the progress this year. Australia’s Archie Schmidt has earned a coveted spot in the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
