Riders from across Australia and New Zealand rallied together on Saturday, 6 September, 2025, for the first edition of ‘United We Ride’. Conceived by Harley-Davidson Australia and New Zealand (Harley-Davidson ANZ) as a fundraiser for The Salvation Army, the inaugural United We Ride has been declared a success, with significant awareness and funds raised for the charity. Ahead of the event, participants in United We Ride signed up for a ride in their area, then started raising funds for The Salvation Army through donations from friends, family and colleagues, or by donating themselves. The day saw more than 50 separate rides held, all co-ordinated by Harley-Davidson dealerships throughout Australia, from Darwin to Launceston, and on both the North and South Island of New Zealand. Royal Enfield has expanded their family of 350 singles with the arrival of the ‘Goan Classic 350’. Ahead of its introduction next year, the V4-powered version of Yamaha’s YZR-M1 has made its racing debut. Factory test rider Augusto Fernandez was a wildcard entry on the V4 Yamaha in the San Marino GP at Misano on 13-14 September, while Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins spent time on the V4 for the IRTA official test at Misano on 15 September. Currently the only manufacturer in MotoGP with an inline four engine, Yamaha hope that switching to a V4 will reverse a winless streak in the premier class that (at time of writing) stretches back to 2022 when Quartararo won the German Grand Prix. Australia’s Daniel ‘Chucky’ Sanders has won the 2025 World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). Capping off a year that started with victory at the Dakar Rally, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider also won the W2RC rounds in Abu Dhabi and South Africa. Victory at the W2RC Rally Raid Portugal in September meant Sanders secured the championship with a round in hand. At the Rally Raid Portugal, Sanders started by winning the prologue, then the first two stages on his factory KTM 450 Rally.
