After securing Jorge Martin at the start of June, Aprilia has completed their factory team line-up for 2025, signing Marco Bezzecchi to ride the RS-GP on a multi-year deal. The 25-year-old from Rimini will be the first Italian rider for Aprilia Racing since Lorenzo Savadori in 2020. A product of Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Academy, Bezzecchi started his grand prix career in Moto3 in 2015. His first win in that category came in 2018 and was backed up by two more that ultimately saw him finish third in the championship that year. Stepping up to Moto2 in 2019, Bezzecchi’s best season in the intermediate class was 2021, when he again finished third in the championship off the back of a race win, six other podiums and eight top ten finishes. BMW’s presence in the FIM Superbike World Championship will be reduced from four bikes to two in 2025, with Bonovo action BMW Racing Team to withdraw from the series at the end of this season. Team owner Jürgen Röder cited ‘personal reasons’ for leaving the category, but did not elaborate further. “I will be stepping down for personal reasons from 2025 on, and consequently, Bonovo action will withdraw as a factory team from BMW,” Röder said in a BMW press release. “I would like to personally thank all the fans who have remained so loyal to us, who have shared in our joys and our hard times. GasGas have released details on their enduro range for 2025, which includes the return of the EC 125 2-stroke, plus improvements to other models in the range. Designed for juniors and newcomers to enduro, ensuring they start off on the right foot, the EC 125 is built off the same foundation as the MC 125, but adds enduro-specific components like a six-speed transmission, stator, engine mapping select switch and an 18-inch rear wheel. Red Bull GasGas Tech3, the KTM satellite team, will have a new look in more ways than one next year. After two seasons with GasGas livery and colours, the team will be re-branded as Red Bull KTM Tech3 and return to running KTM orange in 2025. Tech3 will also welcome two new riders in Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini, both of whom recently lost their seats with the Aprilia and Ducati factory teams. Triumph’s all-new Trident made waves when it was unveiled in late 2020 as a LAMS-legal 660cc triple. SX Global, the official promoters of the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), have released their calendar for the 2024 WSX series, with Australia to once again be part of the action. After Melbourne hosted a round last year, this time it’s Perth’s turn, with back-to-back rounds of the international supercross series to be held in the Western Australian capital in late November. The 2024 WSX kicks off in Vancouver, Canada, on 26 October. Rounds 2 and 3 will be held in Perth on the weekend of 23 and 24 November, before the championship wraps up in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on 4 December. ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team will take a settled rider lineup into the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship after Michael van der Mark signed a one-year contract extension with the factory team.
