Glasgow, with its hilly terrain and evocative architecture, is an arts hub. Along with many theatres, concert halls and museums it is home to the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra which is based at City Halls. The National Theatre of Scotland, a touring company which doesn’t have a fixed performing space has its administrative HQ in Glasgow. Scottish Ballet lives here too. And so of course does the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) which trained Ryan Bancroft, Isobel McArthur, James McAvoy and Maureen Beattie, among many others. It’s a richly arty city in which to study drama, dance, film, music, production or education. And RCS is ranked in the World Top Ten for performing arts education.
