PISTOL REVIEWS Certainly not complaining, but I would like to see more reviews on other pistols and types. May I suggest the Smith & Wesson Model 41 and 46? I own both and they are extremely noteworthy. They do not have “lawyer” triggers, and I believe they’ll outshoot anything on the market today. My 41 has all five barrels with it. BRITISH ENFIELD REVOLVER Q: I have this old pistol and was wondering what you might be able to tell me about it. The history that I have is that a friend’s father bought it after World War II. He sent a surplus dealer $10, and the dealer sent him the gun in .38 caliber. (Ah, the good old days.) He was a commercial fisherman and used it to shoot sharks that got caught in his nets. THE ROLE OF A SPOTTER in a law enforcement or military sniper team cannot be overstated. While it’s the sniper who makes the shot, the spotter helps to identify and aim at the target. Calling wind, recommending elevation adjustments, correcting aim and, in some situations, giving the command to fire, the spotter has to manage many tasks. Most importantly, the spotter frees the sniper to focus on the shot, arguably the easy part of the process. BEFORE MY TIME with Guns & Ammo, I sold tires. One of the first things I was told was that tires are a grudge purchase. Most people only consider them a necessary expense. The customers who came into stores with a brand or model of tire in mind were auto enthusiasts, racers or off-road types. While not as severe of a case as tire selection, I’ve learned that tools for firearm maintenance receive the same treatment.
