Notes form the tapestry of guitar playing. All music is made up of notes, and a note is just any pitch made by a musical instrument. Every note is symbolised by a letter, and the musical alphabet is made up of 12 notes: A, A#/B , B, C, C#/D , D, D#/E , E, F, F#/G , G, and G#/A – after which the sequence goes back to the beginning and starts at A again, only an octave higher.
