Turn your anxieties into a logical, rational measurement of probability and set aside the ones that are really unlikely to happen. (I developed this little tool called the prob-o-meter because it measures the probability of your problems. It’s just a scale of 1 to 5: 1 = something highly unlikely to happen, 2 = unlikely, 3 = likely, 4 = highly likely and 5 = inevitable. When we’re faced with something new, some of us fear failure and think we’re not good enough. To tackle impostor syndrome, you need to externalise the voice of the impostor. Make a list of your achievements, almost like a CV, and keep adding to it continuously. Read over it again and again until your achievements start to stick in your mind. Often, we forget what we’ve accomplished, so writing these things down directly answers back the impostor. Be open about how you’re feeling. This way, people can reassure you and then you’ll see it doesn’t add up. But also accept that you won’t be perfect at everything, that’s human. Learn to be comfortable with your vulnerability.
