FOR MOST people, Christmas is all about well-worn comforting family traditions, but this year I’m making new ones. After many years together, my partner and I recently separated, selling our long-established family home and splitting the proceeds. On 1 June, a dust bowl full of builders (and latterly the terracotta pink, plum, forest green and white palace you see on these pages) became my new home.
With two medium-sized and two small bedrooms, plenty of storage and both family and en-suite bathrooms, this house was what my son and I needed. Plus, with its high ceilings and wider than the average hallway for a Victorian house, it’s light, bright and spacious inside. And it is near my ex, so we can co-parent effectively. Tick, tick, tick, tick!
