TODAY show’s iconic weatherman Willard Scott took a wacky secret to his grave — he started his career playing clowns.
The massive 6-foot, 300-pounder, who died at 87 following a brief illness at his Delaplane, Va., farm, once played the famous Bozo the Clown and was also the first Ronald McDonald.
He brought his love for clowning to the Today show, where he became an icon from 1980 to 2015 dressing in bizarre costumes. At various times, he forecast the weather posing as Culture Club frontman Boy George and Latina movie star Carmen Miranda, teetering on high heels. During one outdoor event, he kissed a pig.
As for the weather, Scott wasn’t a meteorologist and said: “A trained gorilla could do it.”
