For as long as I can remember, I’ve suffered from low self-esteem. But when my marriage collapsed, shortly after my mother’s death from cancer in 2007, I hit rock bottom. I didn’t feel I had emotional or physical energy and, with two children, Matilda and Violet, to look after, I knew I wanted to be in a better place.
