Where was the last place you felt free, even for a moment? At Elle Decor we believe great design transports us, and that it’s worth traveling for. This issue is dedicated to places we love, places we long to return to, and places we haven’t yet been—such as a Portuguese house by Leonora Hamill and the first hotel from Charlap Hyman and Herrero in Hudson, New York. I’m writing this in Paris’s Café de Flore, where tourists people-watch outside and Parisians gossip inside on acid-red banquettes.
