This is the smallest, lightest and most travel-friendly of Novo’s three Explora T-series kits. Even so, the fairly large-diameter four-section legs and robust ball head deliver an impressive maximum load rating of 10kg. Novo only makes carbon-fibre tripods, but the price is competitive considering the construction and excellent quality of the components.
For a travel tripod, the design is fairly conventional, with a single-section centre column, three lockable leg angles and twist-action clamps. As such, the folded size isn’t that small, being just a centimetre shorter than the Kenro tripod on test, at 47cm. The full operating height is 161cm, stretching to 167cm in monopod mode.
