STAR EMAIL
Subject: Grown-up tastes From: Debbie Kenyon
Children’s menus [Stirring It Up, February issue] aren’t an issue for my six-year-old granddaughter, who’s always been encouraged to eat ‘grown-up food’ and consequently dislikes most beige food, eschewing fish fingers and chicken nuggets. On a recent trip to Nottingham, she wanted squid and noodles for lunch, so off we went to Pho. When the crispy squid arrived, she went straight for the tentacles, dipped them in the chilli sauce, closed her eyes and said: “Magnificent!” But when her noodles arrived, she complained to the waitress that they’d forgotten the garnishes of coriander, Thai basil, lime and chilli dipping oil. What more can be said?!
