Direct-to-consumer bikes – where the brand bypass distributors and retailers, and sell straight to you via their website – have come on in leaps and bounds since Canyon started the revolution in 1996.
Ribble, for example, have reinvented their original mail-order model, bringing their development and engineering in-house to create a fleet of models that can compete at the highest level, while their pricing remains high on value.
Pearson, meanwhile, have moved into the direct-to-market world, but haven’t followed a traditional bike-in-a-box business model. Instead, they offer white-glove service and via-dealer delivery, with higher pricing.
