New year. New projects. New techniques. This is where my brain always goes at the start of a year. It's time to work on something fresh and new and different. Cropping up all over social media and the internet have been beautiful images of ways to surface stitch on simple crochet and knit pieces. This is a great way to take something that's maybe not so exciting and change it into a piece that has a wow factor. Surface crochet isn't anything new, but we are bringing you projects that use it in unique ways. Sashiko stitching has really been on my mind lately as well. The meditative nature of a simple, easy-to-work running stitch worked in repeating patterns to add interest and texture to a project is just amazing.…
