When Ife Akintoye arrived at Gatwick airport, she was looking forward to jetting off with her daughter, Reya, 14, and best friend, Tayo, for her first holiday since 2019. But as the group queued at check-in, they were told their flight had been cancelled, and with no help from the airline, they were left to make their own way to Montenegro, or face cancelling the holiday, which had been booked through a third-party and included accommodation in a hotel.
