Strolling into the living room, our cat, Millie, made a beeline for her best pal. ‘Cat,’ my son, Kane, then 15 months, said, reaching out to stroke her soft fur.

It was June 2021, and hearing Kane speak filled my heart with joy.
Especially as it was a moment we'd never experience with my older son, Calum Jr, then 2.
Shortly after his second birthday, me and my partner Calum, had been told Calum Jr had non-verbal autism.
When Kane came along, we saw him meet milestones that Calum Jr had missed.
