Heart breaking, I blinked back the tears.
Another month and still no pregnancy.
‘Maybe we should visit the doctor,’ my hubby Phil, then 34, suggested.
It was August 2014 and we’d been trying for a since marrying a year earlier. ‘Just keep trying,’ our GP said.
After another year, though, still nothing, and at 33, I felt the clock ticking away.
Then a private scan revealed that I had polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
‘I doubt you’re even producing eggs,’ the specialist told me.
I was stunned.
I’d had no usual symptoms – irregular periods, acne or weight gain.
No wonder I can’t fall pregnant, though, I thought.
Luckily, IVF worked first time, and in March 2016, our son Austin arrived.
‘He’s so beautiful,’ Phil beamed.…
